The journey offers a captivating contrast of views — at times gliding through tunnels carved beneath towering mountains, and at other moments emerging into open vistas where snow-capped peaks can be admired in their full splendor. - Continue the journey to Hokitika (138 km / approximately 1 hour 50 minutes), a charming coastal town renowned for its spectacular sunset viewpoints. Hokitika is also recognized as the center of greenstone (pounamu or Māori jade) craftsmanship, an integral part of Māori culture. According to Māori beliefs, greenstone symbolizes peace, strength, and protection, and is believed to bring power and prosperity to the wearer and their family. The stone is traditionally carved into various forms, each carrying its own symbolic meaning. For example, fish-shaped carvings represent blessings of success, perseverance, and safe passage over water, while twist (koru or double-twist) designs symbolize enduring relationships, friendship, and love.

DAY 4 : Franz Josef - Wanaka - Wanaka Tree - Queenstown

DAY 6 : Arrowtown - Kawarau Bridge - Lindis - Mt. Cook National Park

- The town once prospered following the discovery of gold deposits along the Arrow River in 1862, drawing gold miners from around the world during the famous gold rush era. Stroll along Buckingham Street, the town’s main thoroughfare, lined with beautifully preserved heritage buildings, including a traditional gold shop and the much-loved Remarkable Sweet Shop, a must-visit for its delightful selection of sweets.
- Visit Kawarau Bridge to witness the world-famous bungy jumping activity. Bungy jumping is deeply embedded in New Zealand’s adventure culture and is regarded as one of the ultimate expressions of courage and thrill-seeking spirit. Jumps range from heights of approximately 35 to 134 meters, using strong and elastic latex cords securely attached to the jumper’s body or ankles before leaping from bridges or cliffs.

- Pass through Cromwell (204 km / approximately 2 hours 30 minutes) with a stop at Jackson Orchard, a well-known local fruit shop offering a wide selection of fresh seasonal fruits, including cherries, peaches, apricots, and nectarines (subject to seasonal availability).

- Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park forms part of the majestic Southern Alps and is home to Mount Cook, New Zealand’s highest peak, rising to 3,754 meters above sea level. The mountain was named after Captain James Cook, the British explorer who charted Australia and New Zealand, by Admiral John Stokes in 1846.
- The name Aoraki originates from Māori legend, referring to a young Māori ancestor, and the mountain is revered as a sacred site. Towering snowfields and ancient glaciers cloak its slopes throughout the year, creating a breathtaking alpine landscape of timeless beauty.

- The round-trip distance is approximately 6 kilometers, passing through native shrubs and semi-alpine grasslands before reaching Kea Point Lookout. From the viewpoint, take in spectacular panoramic views of Mount Cook, the Mueller Glacier, and the vast alpine valley stretching as far as the eye can see.

- Continue to Lake Tekapo, one of New Zealand’s most iconic lakes. The lake’s brilliant turquoise color is most striking when sunlight reflects off the surface, a natural phenomenon created by fine glacial minerals carried down from the surrounding mountains. Renowned for its serene beauty, Lake Tekapo is often regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in New Zealand.
- Stop for photos at the Sheepdog Memorial, a tribute established through contributions from local farmers and business owners. The sculpture was designed by a local farmer’s wife, cast in bronze in England, and officially unveiled on 7 March 1968.
